Handlettering Challenge: #FebwithFriends
If you have been following along on my Instagram (GlancePaintz) you have seen my sometimes sloppy – sometimes inspired hand-lettering posts. In the month of February, I participated in my first ever Instagram Hand-Lettering Challenges. They were [of course] inspired by 2 of my all-time favorite TV shows so I couldn’t resist joining in the fun!
Here I will dedicate a space to pull together my posts from the #FebwithFriends Challenge and I hope you all enjoy the iconic quotes and my twists on interpreting them into lettering!
1. Gum would be perfection – Chandler
3. I’m breezy! – Monica
7. Isn’t that just kick you in the crotch spit on your neck fantastic? – Rachel
9. I’m curvy and I like it! – Joey
19. I’m not so good with the advice. Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment instead? – Chandler
21. PIVOT! – Ross
25. No uterus, no opinion – Rachel
27. He’s her lobster – Pheobe (About Rachel & Ross)
I didn’t participate every day and I had the full intention of writing out all of the quotes for this post but then I decided why not be real and just share what happened when it happened!?
With this being my first challenge I was a little lazy with really using this time to expand my skill set and practice good form. I just kind of rushed through to make sure I posted as much as I could. I am not thrilled with all of the pieces, I actually thought about not even posting some of them, but then I remembered that someday I will want to see how far I have come in this lettering journey. Honestly, my first post was one of my favorite ones/my best one in my opinion and I definitely don’t feel like I showed any real progress throughout the month but I am happy that this pushed me to take a minute to be creative every day (or so…). I am also glad that I took this opportunity because I did find myself interacting with a wider community on Instagram and seeing everyone else’s efforts and interpretations was such a fun experience. This has helped me start to feel like part of a little lettering community on Instagram and I am really grateful for that!
As always, thanks for hanging!
Stay tuned for the #CFLGilmoreGirls Challenge Recap Post later this week!
